A Bodhisattva is an individual who had the ability to transcend their humanity but decided to reincarnate again for the sole purpose of helping others to also ascend. An Earth Angel is an angel that chose to be born as a human in order to help others. These are terms you’ve probably heard before, but do they really exist? Not only do they exist, but I believe that they are more common than people realize.
I’ve been lucky to identify two such Earth Angels or Bodhisattvas in recent years. One was my neighbor and the other was a good friend back when I lived in Massachusetts. I got to know both of them well enough to know that it wasn’t just a “good act” but who they really were. And just for the record, neither of them acted like they were anything special or better than anyone else, they were just honest-to-God good people.
For these two people in particular, there was simply a lightness that emanated from them. You could feel the compassion and loving energy just dripping off of them. I never heard either one ever say a bad word or pass judgment on anyone. They both had a natural understanding of why people do the things they do, good or bad. They would also pass on these profound little nuggets of wisdom. The things they would say were simple, but would leave you thinking about it for days or even weeks afterward.
Both had good karma. When I say “good karma”, I don’t mean that they were rich. In fact, they both lived modestly but comfortably, seeming to have just enough of what they needed. Neither one had ever suffered from tragedy or misfortune. They had very good families and sincere friendships. They are the type of people that could easily fly under the radar, but it would be impossible not to envy their simple but pure lives.
Have you encountered an Earth Angel? If you’ve ever met one, it’s hard not to feel inspired to become one yourself. It’s an easy excuse to think “Well, I guess I’ll have to wait and see if I have the opportunity to do it in another life”. Maybe you’ve made mistakes in this life. Maybe you’ve hurt people. I believe that the past in no way stops you from being a bodhisattva from this point onwards. At the very least, the striving to do so would at least put you in better odds of a favorable reincarnation next time.
They are amongst us and their very existence is here to show us what’s possible. In the Edgar Cayce readings it is stated that the only way to break free of a karmic pattern or karmic debt is to simply realize that you too are of an angelic nature. Once you do that, karmic lessons or “karmic punishments” are no longer necessary. You simply rise above it.
