At some point you need to make an honest appraisal of your life and how you are spending your time. I’m still providing readings of course, just on a one-to-one basis. But these days when I have some free time, I’m really enjoying embracing my creative side and working with clay. I recently made this clay hand incense holder and I wanted to share it with all of you!
The first step is I simply rolled out a slab of clay and then traced my hand over it. Next I cut away clay and added clay to the cut-out to make a 3D sculpture. This took some patience but was really not difficult to do.
Once I was finished sculpting, I bent up the fingers to give it a more realistic look. You can see I poked a hole through one of the fingers so I could use stick-incense with it as well.
As you can see, the clay does end up shrinking some once it’s been fired, so you might want to trace a man’s hand into the clay to start if you want a bigger finished piece. Overall I’m really happy with it though! I like having pieces for my altar that have special meaning, and having something I made myself definitely fits into that.
That hand is awesome.
